Halt in Red Sea Traffic Following Airstrikes on Yemen #
Several major tanker companies have suspended traffic toward the Red Sea in response to U.S. and British airstrikes on Houthi militants in Yemen. Among these companies are Hafnia, Torm, and Stena Bulk, which are among the world’s largest operators of petroleum product tankers. The multinational coalition leading the airstrikes has advised ships to avoid transiting the Bab el-Mandeb Strait for several days. The strait is a crucial trade gateway, with around 7 million barrels of crude oil and products passing through it daily.
